Commenting on the sell out, Simon Moran, director of the festival said that each year, the festival goes from strength to strength and its credit goes to the outstanding artists who take the stages across weekends and fans who attend the festival year-on-year.

V Festival 2012 includes some of the biggest name such as The Killers and The Stone Roses. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will be participating in the event which will also see Snow Patrol, Ed Sheeran, Nicki Minaj and David Guetta. The event will be held at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in Staffordshire on August 18th and 19th.

Eavis was attending the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival that was being held at Netherlands over this weekend. While he was there, he was having a look at the Intellitix wristband which is supposed to be used in various other music festivals in this year’s summer. Eavis feels that the Intellitix wristband is definitely much better than the wristbands that are presently in use in the Glastonbury Music Festival and that he is definitely considering to use it. He also considers the Intellitix wristband to be an incredible technological tool.

By using the Intellitix wristband, the locations of individual concert goers can be monitored. Organizing certain “checkpoint zones” will help to track when a certain individual is entering or leaving a particular zone and will help in pinpointing people based on location, date and time. This will make it easy for the festival organizers to conveniently monitor traffic flows and plan the following festivals more efficiently. Using this new method of traffic monitoring will also help in preventing theft and various other crimes. However, even though the Intellitix wristband promises several noteworthy benefits, it does occasionally sound like a Big Brother-like gadget.

The Intellitix wristbands were used at previous year’s Coachella Festival besides using the standard electronic radio frequency ID wristbands. The RFID wristbands have also been previously used at many noteworthy music festivals such as the Bonnaroo Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Electric Zoo, Outside Lands Festival and Moogfest.

The Glastonbury Festival is off in 2012 but will return again in the next year. Michael Eavis has also reported that already three headliners for the Glastonbury Festival 2013 have been booked.
